The study investigated the psychological aspects of the relationship between students’ depression indicators and temperament characteristics. Within the framework of the study, the depression levels of students with different temperament types were analyzed comparatively. Standard psychodiagnostic methods were used in the empirical study, and the results obtained were processed using statistical methods. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between temperament characteristics and depression indicators. The results of the study show that individual psychological characteristics, especially temperament, have a significant impact on the emotional state and tendency to depression of students. The results of the statistical analysis showed that there is a statistically significant, positive relationship between temperament and depression level (r=0.293*; p=0.011). The fact that the obtained p value is less than 0.05 (p < 0.05) confirms that this relationship is not random and is statistically significant. As a result, it is necessary to take into account temperament characteristics in order to prevent depression among students and protect mental health. The research creates a scientific basis for improving psychological services in higher education institutions and identifies promising directions for future research.
