Revista Cultura Científica is committed to protecting authors’ rights while promoting the widest possible dissemination and responsible reuse of scholarly research. The journal operates under a Diamond Open Access model and publishes its scholarly content under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.
Copyright Ownership and Publishing Rights
Authors retain copyright in their articles published in Revista Cultura Científica. Authors are not required to transfer copyright ownership to the journal or its publisher.
The copyright notice for published articles should therefore identify the author(s) as the copyright holder(s), for example:

By submitting an article for publication and approving its publication, the author(s) grant Revista Cultura Científica and its publisher, Scientific Culture Press, a non-exclusive right to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, archive, preserve, and communicate the article as the scholarly Version of Record.
The journal and publisher may also provide the article and its metadata to indexing, abstracting, discovery, preservation, archiving, and scholarly information services.
Because these publishing rights are non-exclusive, authors retain the right to use, distribute, archive, and reuse their own work in accordance with the applicable open-access license.
Creative Commons License and Reuse
Unless specifically stated otherwise, articles published in Revista Cultura Científica are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License.
Under this license, users may copy, share, redistribute, reproduce, adapt, remix, transform, and build upon the published material in any medium or format, including for commercial and non-commercial purposes.
Reuse is permitted provided that appropriate attribution is given. Where reasonably possible, attribution should include the name(s) of the author(s), article title, name of Revista Cultura Científica, DOI or other persistent identifier, a reference to the CC BY 4.0 license, and an indication of whether any changes or adaptations were made.
Reuse of published material must not imply that the authors, editors, journal, or publisher endorse a particular person, organization, product, service, interpretation, or modified version.
Users may not impose legal or technological restrictions that prevent others from exercising the rights granted under the CC BY 4.0 license.
Nothing in this policy limits any rights available under applicable copyright exceptions or limitations.
Authors may freely share and archive their published articles without an embargo, subject to the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license. Authors may deposit their articles in institutional or subject repositories, personal or institutional websites, academic networking platforms, research databases, teaching materials, and other scholarly communication channels.
Authors are encouraged to cite and link to the published Version of Record and include the DOI whenever available.
Content published under CC BY 4.0 may also be used for text and data mining, computational analysis, automated processing, and other forms of scholarly reuse, provided that the applicable attribution requirements are observed.
Third-Party Material and Author Responsibilities
The CC BY 4.0 license applies to material in an article for which the author(s) hold the necessary rights and that is not specifically identified as being subject to different copyright or licensing conditions.
Photographs, illustrations, figures, tables, maps, datasets, extracts, or other third-party materials reproduced with permission may be subject to separate copyright restrictions.
Where third-party material is not covered by the article’s CC BY 4.0 license, this should be clearly indicated in the relevant caption, credit line, footnote, or acknowledgement.
Users who wish to reproduce such material beyond what is permitted by applicable law must obtain authorization directly from the relevant copyright holder.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submissions do not unlawfully infringe the copyright or intellectual-property rights of others. Where copyrighted material owned by another person or organization is included in a manuscript, authors must obtain all permissions required for publication and open-access distribution before publication.
Authors should retain documentary evidence of permissions and provide it to the editorial office upon request.
Previously published material must be appropriately acknowledged and cited. Material already published elsewhere should not be reproduced without authorization where such authorization is legally required.
Permission to reproduce third-party material does not remove the obligation to provide proper scholarly attribution.
Supplementary files published as part of an article are normally distributed under the same CC BY 4.0 license unless a different copyright or licensing status is clearly stated.
Copyright Notice and Scholarly Record
Each published article should display a copyright and licensing statement substantially similar to the following:

This is an open-access article distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License, which permits use, sharing, adaptation, distribution, and reproduction in any medium or format, provided appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and source, the license is acknowledged, and any changes made are indicated.
Copyright and licensing arrangements do not prevent Revista Cultura Científica from issuing corrections, expressions of concern, retractions, or other post-publication notices when necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
Where an article is corrected, retracted, or otherwise updated, the journal will preserve the scholarly record and clearly identify the status of the relevant publication or notice.
